Nominees in this category are limited-service hotels that offer a comfortable experience with basic amenities and facilities. Their mid-range price point is relative to budget and luxury accommodation alternatives.
Previous winners of this category are Hyatt Place Melbourne, Essendon Fields, Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens and DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne.
Judges will be assessing the following criteria:
- General criteria - signage, cleanliness, décor, design, lighting, atmosphere, security and safety.
- Reception
- Hotel facilities
- Guest room
- Breakfast

Judging will take place via anonymous site inspection, Sunday – Friday.

Hotels nominating in this category will be invoiced to reimburse one night's accommodation - standard room, parking (if applicable) and breakfast.

Cost: $160 + Reimbursement to cover the cost of anonymous property judging. Please note, Best Meeting and Events Space of the Year nominations cost $200.
