Regional Hotel Restaurant of the Year

This category is open to midscale and upscale restaurants or outlets located in hotels and resorts across regional Victoria. This category looks to find a balance between technical skill, staff knowledge and the overall hospitality experience.

Previous winners include Tempo Kitchen & Bar – Novotel Geelong, Restaurant at Balgownie Estate Bendigo – Balgownie Estate and Banyalla – RACV Healesville Country Club & Resort.

Judges will be assessing the following criteria:

  • General - signage, cleanliness, décor, design, lighting, atmosphere, security and safety.
  • Menu
  • Beverages
  • Food and presentation
  • Staff
  • Telephone technique
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Overall experience

Judging will take place via anonymous site inspection, Sunday – Friday. Written submissions are not required and will not be considered during the judging process.

Hotels nominating in this category will be invoiced to reimburse two courses and two beverages.

Categories

Accommodation Awards

Hotels can only nominate in one accommodation specific category (e.g. Luxury Accommodation Hotel of the Year) per venue.

Cost: $160 + Reimbursement to cover the cost of anonymous property judging.

Onsite Offering Awards

Hotels can make multiple nominations in the Onsite Offering Awards categories (e.g. Premium Hotel Restaurant of the Year, Hotel Bar of the Year, Hotel Club Lounge and Hotel Spa of the Year).

Cost: $160 + Reimbursement to cover the cost of anonymous property judging. Please note, Best Meeting and Events Space of the Year nominations cost $200.
